I had a discussion with another guy regarding FPRD (False Purpose Rundown), one of the more workable actions they will sell you in the "church".
So he convinced me to write up my opinions right here, so that others could agree or disagree with my stuff. Fair enough.

TROM of course gets rid of things in your mind by reducing it's importance to something like nothing   :D
Well, what gets reduced in importance is POSTULATES or the synonyms like HOPES, DREAMS, CONSIDERATIONS and many others.
TROM is good stuff, of course used by very few people. Funny how the really good stuff is never widely used on this planet, hehe..

But I was talking about FPRD..
The rundown was introduced in the early eighties and it is all about getting rid of a person's "evil" or "false" purposes.
A PURPOSE is of course one of the flavours of a POSTULATE. And in the FPRD bulletins it is very clear that one is hunting for a postulate.
So the procedure is a kind of a dianetics flow 2 thing. One finds a charged overt, finds earlier similar overts, finds a destructive postulate.
Then one finds a confusion at that time and spots the earliest point in that confusion.
There is a special type of smile that will appear and most often the e-meter will have a persistent floating needle and the person will have to take a break.
Maybe a break for several days.

Ok, I have done a few things in that church. But everything else paled compared to the changes in personality that happened on FPRD.
TROM does the same thing, but more controlled and cleanly, without the evaluations that are always present in a church environment.

Workable definition: EVALUATION = A postulate (usually false) that is not yours, but they want you to make a similar postulate yourself.

There is a story about the early clears that were made in 1949 and 1950. Yes, they went rather sane and free of craziness and stuff.
But they also put aside their ambitions in life and just left to do fun things instead. "Where are all the clears?"
I have heard lectures where LRH tries to explain this or partially refute it to the audience. Not always very convincingly   :o
His ideal scene was that they should stay around the church and help "clear the planet" which was the only worthy postulate.

Well, he developed processes that produced other kinds of "betterment", but not that special kind of free will clears that were the earliest ones.
I will tell you a secret, those kind of free will gains were mostly produced by running dianetics flow 2 (overts). At this time only 3 flows were known.
But in the Dianetics book everything is about flow 1. And gradually they lost the ability to produce clears.

Ok, let us skip 30 years and move to 1980. Good people like Dennis is long gone and the church is in trouble legally and in need of money.
Many of the tech people are robots and the public is not always so happy, they are complaining. Staff are unhappy too, many are kicked out the next years.
The OT levels are changed around, new levels introduced, always revised and changed again. Things are not going well.
But the whole idea is that people shall stay, continue to pay, do their next level, pay more, buy a repair, get a setup, buy some FPRD..

Did you hear that last one? What? Where did FPRD come from?
Yes, without anyone really noticing, something had happened. Somebody (hehe, they claimed it came from LRH) had put together some old workable stuff.
It was pitched to the church as a rundown that would earn them a lot of income, make the public moving on the bridge and willing to pay for their next level.
And the church got tricked and released it as a wonderful LRH product based on the tech of "the prior confusion".
Too funny, the guys that did this write-up must have laughed themselves silly doing this to the church.
Going full circle back to what worked in 1949, but this time codified with brilliantly working repair lists and use of the meter. And no part of it is confidential.
That means it cannot really be removed again, there will always be FPRD lists floating around somewhere. That was planned too.

Oh boy, many that got themselves some FPRD just left. And many others just got to be "difficult" public, just doing what they pleased. Too funny.

But we never hear about it these days. Strange how the really good stuff is never widely used on this planet   ;)

Ive read a little about the false purpose rundown. Or like you imply it could be called false postulate rundown. it works, but feel its limited in workablility. Im looking for the ultimate rundown, one that doesnt miss anything. Trom does that better by not focusing only on the tip of the needle, but includes the whole needle in one rundown, "postulate rundown". Thats what i think scientology messed up at, processes which are focussing only on one part of the neeldle and not the whole needle. Postulates are what makes us move in the game of life. We can make bad moves and good moves.
