When I studied and re-studied the materials of TROM until I understood it and could use it, the thing that kept repeating itself in the back of my mind was, 'How in the world would someone without a Scientology background understand this?"
The second-most thing that kept recurring in my mind was, "How could someone with a Scientology background -respect- this?"
And by that I am not talking about the actual theories. I am talking about materials that are riddled with poor editing-- mis-spellings, inadequate glossaries, and improper formatting (take a look at what I posted about level 5c and how the steps are improperly written down for selecting a junior universe and running it. Without the original TROM writeup to compare it to, one would be lost as to what to do when).
TROM, in order to be -respected- by Scientologists looking for an alternative, or Non-Scientologists starting from scratch, needs to have materials that at the very least, meet minimum publishing standards.
Slowly but surely, I am correcting these problems. The glossary I posted in "Read TROM here" is the way a glossary should be for an introduction to the subject. The two lectures I have proofread and provided glossaries for, also can be understood by the laymen as well.
TROM doesn't necessarily compete with Scientology. Scientology is actually the background data for TROM. Dennis says so himself. We need to keep in mind that the Church puts out gorgeous, well-edited, well-formatted books with comprehensive glossaries. There should be something comparable to that for Trommer-wannabes, or those just curious.
I don't want to do this alone. I will if I have to, but it will just take much longer.
Anyone who has compiled glossaries, done any proofreading or editing on lectures, or any other work to clarify the materials, please send it to TromFan@gmail.com .
I especially need help clarifying Boolean algebra. Though I have a rough understanding of it, explaining it to someone else is a bit of a challenge for me.
Some of you more trained and experienced Scientologists can help me understand NOTs a bit better. If you have any references, this would be great.
We don't have the sales force or the powerful organization behind us. BUT we can at least bring the presentation of these materials up to a level where they can be respected by those who read self-help books.
I am not doing this for money. I've already informed the current TROM publisher that he can use anything I have proofread, and any glossaries I have posted in his books and I don't want anything in return for it. If he never updates the books, that is his prerogative. He's done his part in at least making the materials available to the public. And, on the positive side, we can thank him for that, and we need not make any further demands of him. So instead, I am going to continually publish my corrections on this forum with the intent of putting a "cleaner face" on the TROM materials.
Will you help me?
