General Discussion / Re: Peter

I emailed him at the email address I last had for him, and trust it is still current.  Update:  He is doing fine - hunkering down and enjoying it.  I did not ask him about TROM and he did not mention it either.
General Discussion / Peter

Hello All,

It appears that Peter McLaughlin is incommunicado. Does anyone know if he is still with us?

If you are not familiar with the data in Insanity Point by Dennis Stephens or the Scientology process "Problems of Comparable Magnitude" you should probably study such before reading this post (the data on Problems of Comparable Magnitude can be found in Scientology Fundamentals of Thought).

This is personal and kind of complex, so pardon my rambling...

I know this woman who in the past has been very flirty with me.  "Acccidental" nipple slips where I can clearly see them.  Touching me when she talks to me, subtle things that communicate sexual interest or the need of sexual interest from me, but still not overt enough that if I "called her on it" she could still have an "out" of saying I just took things the wrong way.  But I could still feel the intent.  A hot and cold alternating flow.

I never returned the flow.  I did not flirt back.  I am married and she is married and I am just not a cheater.  And even if I were, I feared that if I did return the flow she would just reject me and expose me to everyone.

So for the longest time I would have fantasies about her.  Sometimes some pretty vivid dreams at night.  In the daydreams, sometimes I would reject her advances and berate her for sexually teasing me.

I tried handling this in TROM therapy by timebreaking the incidents of sexual teasing, running the "to sex" goals package at level 5b, etc.  I did get some relief, but not a full resolution of the problem that I kept having these fantasies and they would not stop.

I decided to try and run problems of comparable magnitude to having sexual fantasies that I could not stop thinking about.  But just before running that process, I realized that running it with that wording would be a big mistake.

Because the sexual fantasies weren't the actual problem.

The sexual fantasies were actually the SOLUTION to the real problem.  So I ran problems of comparable magnitude to "I want to have sex with this person but I can't".

So I ran that and got some relief.  But what then shows up?  Another problem-- "This person is seducing me but I don't want her".  So I ran problems of comparable magnitude to that.

I then ran plenty of RI, then also did the first three levels of Ken Ogger's self-clearing to get myself into present time.

The mental phenomenon is GONE.

My analysis of this, and this is my theory, not standard TROM or standard Scientology, but my own "tech" so to speak, is this:

I had an IP of must sex/must not sex and she has a corresponding IP of "must be sexed/must not be sexed".

Because I had two postulates of equal strength, I actually had two problems, not just one---- Wanting her but not being able to have her, and being able to have her but not wanting her.  Both at the same time.  If that's not insanity, I don't know what is.

Once again, the fantasies weren't the problem.  They were a solution--- daydreaming about something you can't have. But it got out of hand.

Once the problem was handled in therapy, the compulsive daydreams went away too.
Read TROM here / Missing lecture from website and where to find it

If you are interested in listening to the level 5D lectures but run into this on the website like I did,
where it says:

Level 5D set of lectures
The following lectures are a set showing Dennis's development of level 5D of TROM.
03 and 04 are the final how to of Bond Breaking and 05 is an interesting addendum.
01-Level 6-Bonding 21Mar93.mp3 82 megabyte
02-Relationships-Bonding 21 Feb 94.mp378 megabyte
03-Bond Breaking 1 Sept 94.mp344 megabyte
04-Independence 8 Nov 94.mp37.9 megabyte
Right click to download these 128Kb/sec files
01 Level 6 Bonding.doc
01 Level 6 Bonding.PDF
02 Relationships Bonding. doc
02 Relationships Bonding.pdf
03 Bond Breaking.doc
03 Bond Breaking.pdf
04 Independence.doc
04 independence.pdf

-You may scratch your head wondering why it says there are five lectures when there are only four listed.
I found the missing lecture, if you scroll down the page you will see it listed here

Level 2 after level 5.mp3
After completeing level 5A, 5B, 5C and 5D of TROM Dennis states that you can run level 2 again to good advantage.
Level 2 after Level 5.doc
Level 2 after Level 5.pdf

HOWEVER,  I have found when I try to click on that lecture, I get a “page not available”

If you want to listen to all five lectures, go to this site:

You will see all five lectures for level 5D listed in order and you will be able to download that missing lecture.

I am happy for you.
Level two TROM / E-meter after level 2

My e-meter reads after lvl2 completion.

Dennis spoke about his e-meter reads after lvl 2:

by e-meter which was just sitting there idly.
General Discussion / Question about Boolean Algebra
« Last post by TromFan on February 14, 2020, 12:24:17 pm »
I am now reading Insanity Point for about the third or fourth time now.  Each time I read it, the Boolean Algebra makes a little more sense to me.  Between my TROM studies and doing the actual processing, I have developed an intuitive understanding of it and what the phenomena is, and could probably explain it pretty well in plain English, but still, at times it's a headache for me trying to figure out what the actual symbols are intended to mean.

I think if I can understand this ONE THING I believe either it will all make sense or at least I will know what question to answer next.

Here's the passage, followed by my question:

"Now this postulate “X(1-X)=1” has some very interesting deductions, very interesting deductions. I'll give them to you. I won't prove these deductions but they can be, I can assure you, every one I'm giving to you can be proven very easily in Boolean algebra.
X(1-X)=1, X is and is not simultaneously
Here we go. We can deduce from “X(1-X)=1” that “X +(1-X)=0.”
X +(1-X)=0, neither X exists nor not X exists.
In other words it's a state of affairs where neither X exists nor not X exists. Get it?
X + (1-X)=1, either X exists or not X exist or both exist
“X +(1-X)=0” now that's a state of unreason because reason maintains that “X +(1-X)=1” that's what reason maintains.
But unreason, insanity, the IP, says that “X + (1-X)=0”
X +(1-X)=0, neither X exists nor not X exists.
Now this is a particularly interesting deduction from our point of view because it tells us that while the person is in the IP state the reasonable part of the postulate set is reduced to zero. "

So, what is the difference between X(1-X) and X + (1-X)?  More specifically,  what is X(1-X) supposed to mean?  I took regular algebra in school and I know that when you put two values together like this, it is supposed to mean multiplication,  But I know he does not mean that here.  I looked and I know that with a plus sign it means "and" or "or" but Dennis does not really explain what it means if there is no symbol between the two values.

I have a vague understanding that it means both values simultaneously, but not added, but I am not 100% sure.

I know someone on this forum has to understand this.  I'm no logician.  I have other strong points, but that is not one of them.  Any help explaining is greatly appreciated.

General Discussion / Re: Piezoelectric Augmentation

Same here!  It's been decades since I've owned an e-meter myself, and I have long since forgotten how to use one.

I go by indicators too.

That said, I have re-done level three several times. It's been when I've gotten up to level five and get stuck.  Then I go back levels like Dennis advised.  Every time I have finished level three it has been on the basis of I simply cannot timebreak anything-- as soon as it comes to mind it vanishes back into the past before I try to consciously run anything out of it, and I don't have any reaction.

The first two times this happened it was a bit upsetting-- going back to level three, but this last time when I went back to it I was kind of happy about doing it.  I adopted a new stable datum that it does not matter what level I am on, as long as the process runs and I am getting gains.  I have a theory that either a) level five opened me up so much that I could now run level three or b) that I mopped up on level three whatever charge I missed on running level five.  Actually, the two theories aren't necessarily exclusive, and part of the level five repair is to timebreak whatever shows up.

I wouldn't mind verifying my level three completion on a meter, but it's not like I am going to go into a Class Five Org and say, "Hey, could you check my TROM level three completion?"  I can only imagine the ramifications.

Hello Trom Fan,

I process by personal indicators, abreaction being one of the most important.

As Dennis has indicated, using an e-meter is much too slow and cumbersome for higher level work.

It has been decades since I have owned an e-meter and when I started Trom I made the decision to follow Dennis’s instructions as exactly as possible.

Sounds like you are a pretty har d cor e Trom-er.  Do you use an e-meter for any of your sessions?  If so at what levels?

I fell off level five a few months ago then want back and ran a LOT of level three to good gain, and am back on level four now.  I will keep this in mind for the future.
