Here's a package that has been polluted over the years.
To Educate and To be Educated
It is well worth educating oneself on the actual meaning of this word...
Current definition:
educate /ˈɛdjʊkeɪt /
▸ verb [with object] give intellectual, moral, and social instruction to (someone), typically at a school or university:
she was educated at a boarding school.
▪ provide or pay for instruction for (one's child), especially at a school:
she had crises of conscience about how best to educate her youngest child.
▪ give (someone) training in or information on a particular subject:
a plan to educate the young on the dangers of drugs
[with object and infinitive] the need to educate people to conserve water
Though look at the derivation:
educe /ɪˈdjuːs /
▸ verb [with object] formal bring out or develop (something latent or potential):
out of love obedience is to be educed.
▪ infer (something) from data:
more information can be educed from these statistics.
A complete inversion.
I use the definition of educe when considering educate / even if our current system of education does the opposite... Where one is perhaps Forced to Know...

In the first instance I refer you to the 'To Reason' GP - can you answer those questions with respect to that GP?
In the second - let us initially take the perversion (the modern definition)
To Educate - is the originating goal, here it is forcing the pupil to know something
To be Educated - Is the overwhelmed state, I have come to know your postulates
We can see that this perversion is pretty much a non-life package utilising this definition
Using 'educe' as the base
To educate - is the To Know flow it is drawing out, it is the receiving flow
To be educated - is the To be Known flow, it is flowing out it's natural knowingness
