What to do after TROM
« on: July 03, 2019, 12:02:02 pm »
You will find that as you progress with TROM you arrive at a state of just Beingness. Happy but with nothing left to do.  This is ok but most of us will get bored with doing nothing and will create some problem to have.

I suggest that you instead have a plan for what to do with the rest of your life. You need a worthwhile purpose or goal to work toward.

Listen to this Youtube talk by Jordan Peterson about his self-authoring program and you will know what i am talking about.

Keep on TROMing

Though I am probably far from finishing the program,  I will say that instead of my mind just "vanishing" and I have no thoughts at all, I find that instead my thoughts are of what I wish to accomplish.  This is a far cry from what the mind used to be for me---  arguing with people in the past, focusing on problems, etc.

If you don't have purpose, I believe one will just attract problems to keep life interesting.  Good point.

I just read your profile, " TROM EDITOR " hahahahahaha. Its ok I know you mean well .

WE all appreciate your dedication for so many years. I hope what ever you do after TROM is what you truly want to do after TROM .

Maybe pan for gold on the north fork of the american river . Pitch a tent and gather some rocks to use for your campfire . Bring your own wood from Safeway , and whatever  else that's needed for a comfortable experience.

Don't forget the coffee , a gas or battery lantern for reading a good book on " how to pan for gold .( I know you already know how )  You may find a technique you  have never heard of before or some other good tips.

If you have a dog, you gotta bring the dog and if you don't, consider buying one at the local SPCA . Dogs are much like people too and great companions.

You've done all the hard work and now you can benefit from your fruition.

Being friendly to others after trom will be as easy as being friendly to a hungry dog with treat in hand.  Almost any conversation is a good conversation but if not, you'll be prepared to take on anything that comes your way with ease.

A master at games play is a personal asset you'll have for the rest of the short time you have left in life to live.

Alone time is a must and you'll have a lot of time for that with your pan and some good rain boots to keep your feet dry .

Get a good pair of waterproof gloves tpp. The water can sting a bit after a while without them .

There's nothing like the smell of bacon and eggs over a morning campfire with a big cup of coffee before setting out to the river's edge for your first session the day

You might find some gold too.

" One last word before we go into Level Five proper. Be sure you want to make the trip. Thereís no going back, you know. Can you go back now and enjoy the games you played as a five year old? Once you walk this road you canít get off it. My advice is to take someone with you, or youíll soon be running a terrible scarcity of people to talk to about the really interesting things in life. If you donít fancy yourself as a being with god-like abilities, on the other hand, then the top of Level Four is the place to quit. You are still more or less human, and Level Five will soon change all that. "
