General Discussion / Re: Have the Masters Totally Resolved their Minds?

I concur.
I don't think Eckhart has resolved his mind (I think it's observable in some of his talks) and I think he would benefit greatly from TROM.
On the other hand, TROMmers would benefit greatly from ET teachings. For one, ET gives a better picture of how it all applies to the exact life situation whatever it is. Also, it has a great variety of techniques.
In my mind I have this metaphor of how TROM and ET teachings complement each other.
There are many techniques in ET teachings, but they can all be divided into two groups:
First group: RI-like (putting you into the Present). Examples:
"Feel the aliveness within your body. That anchors you in the Now."
"To have your attention in the Now is not a denial of what is needed in your life. It is recognizing what is primary. Then you can deal with what is secondary with great ease.".
Second group: Timebreaking-like (resolving the mind). Examples:
"Surrender becomes so much easier when you realize the fleeting nature of all experiences and that the world cannot give you anything of lasting value."
"When you completely accept this moment, when you no longer argue with what is, the compulsion to think lessens and is replaced by an alert stillness.".
Although many of them could be put into both groups.
(Quotes are taken from "Stillness Speaks".)
ET gives a great arsenal of swords, firearms, garrots etc. (Timebreaking-like stuff), and that whole arsenal is so various that mind can be "attacked" from different angles, using most suitable tactics.
Also he gives a full-range of medicine, potions etc. (RI-like stuff, to "heal" yourself), which can be used for any type of wound.
However, ET doesn't give you a map with enemy forces on it, he merely says: "Our battle plan is to fight whoever comes to us".
TROM, on the other hand, gives you only an AK-47 (Timebreaking) and a single almost magical cure solution (RI), which is simply the minimum - it's just enough. No variety, but TB and RI will get the job done.
But TROM shows you the exact territories to be freed from occupants (various pieces of mind). It even gives you a battle plan of whom to attack first, whom you can manage to conquer, thus getting warfare experience, ammunition, and the little territory which is freed of them - these acquisitions will lead you to becoming more able to attack the next bunch of occupants - all by plan. And so it continues until you are the master of your land (once more?).
That's the metaphor. I try to make it as precise as possible so don't be angry if I post it once again on this forum with some minor changes and say "I'm cleverer than I was before, so here are the changes"

By the way, to me, ET books and talks feel pretty much like books on physics at school - they are that precise and logical. Except they cover more than the physical world.
Cheers

A little preface before the actual metaphor:

The metaphor itself:
